Submission Process

​

  • Films must be submitted through Google Drive link or Vimeo link. (Accessible)

  • Participants need to register online on the Avlokan Film Festival 2025 website.

 

Eligibility for Submissions

​

  • Open to Short films, Short documentaries, and Vertical shorts.

  • All the films Submitted by Film Makers to the Festival under Short Film, Short Documentary and Vertical Shorts created after 1st January 2023 will be included under the Competition Section of the festival program.

  • Short Film (Under 20 Minutes)

  • Short Documentaries (Under 20 Minutes)

  • Vertical Shorts: 90 seconds maximum.

  • Entry fee for MREI (Schools, University, and MR Alumni) Films – ₹400/-

  • Entry fee for all Other Schools, Individuals, Colleges/Institutions/Universities – ₹500/-

  • ₹200/- for submitting Vertical shorts. 

​

No Refunds/ Cancellation made at any stage after submitting entries.
 

Number of Submissions
 

  • Individual filmmakers can submit a maximum of 3 films under the Festival’s Film Categories (Short Film, Short Documentary, and vertical shorts.

​

  • However, a School, Film/Media Colleges/Institutions/Universities can submit up to 10 entries per school.

Press Kit / Publicity Materials

​

The following formats will be required for the press kit and Festival Directory:

​

  • Production stills (4)

  • Director’s photographs (1)

  • Bio data of Director

  • Film poster

  • A 20-30 seconds Trailer to be submitted with each film.

  • Synopsis of the film – not more than 200 words.

GUIDELINES

General guidelines for the film festival​
 

  • Participation letter from Producer or College authorities or legal right holders.
     

  • Individual technicians or the actors can submit their films, with the authorization letter from the producer/legal right holder.
     

  • Detail of award/s received, festival screening, release (if any).
     

  • The Film must be an original creation & shall not be copied from any other films made earlier.
     

  • Regional films should include English subtitles if they are being submitted.
     

  • Only the applicants of the shortlisted films will be notified via email.
     

  • Additional submission material will be communicated to them at the time of notification if any.
     

  • The director and the producer of the shortlisted films can be provided with accommodation and food facilities by the festival. However, the travel and other expenses will be borne by the makers themselves.
     

  • Once a film is officially selected for the competition, it cannot be withdrawn from the festival.
     

  • All the films selected for the festival should use the festival logo in the beginning of their films for later screenings. The logo will be provided by the festival.
     

  • If the declarations submitted by the participants are found to be factually false or incorrect, AVLOKAN Film Festival reserves the rights to reject the entry or even cancel the selection of the film after the final results /announcements.
     

  • The decision of the selectors and the jury will be final. It cannot be challenged by the makers.
     

  • The festival reserves the right to change/ modify any guidelines according to the situation.
